Heavy-Duty Composite and Wrapped Bellows for Harsh Industrial Conditions

Engineered for high temperatures, chemicals, and aggressive operating environments, these fabric-reinforced bellows—also known as composite bellows or wrapped bellows—offer excellent dimensional stability and protection. Their structure can be enhanced with internal wire rings or coil springs for added support and longevity. For maintenance ease and retrofits, a zipper is an option. Common applications include industrial machinery, automotive, printing equipment, and ball screw or piston rod protection.

Materials Options

CR-Rubber Coated Fabric:

  • The time-tried material for outdoor use (ozone and weather resistant)
  • Chloroprene (also known as Neoprene), with cotton fabric base.
  • Temperature range:  -20°C – +110°C
  • Thicknesses (6): 0.5 mm – 1.0 mm – 1.5 mm – 2.0 mm – 2.5 mm – 3.0 mm
  • Optional coating: PTFE inside and/or outside
  • PTFE coating added when resistance to acid, alkaline-solution, or solvents is needed.

Aluminized Carbon Fiber:

  • Carbon Fabric with aluminum coating on one side
  • Temperature range: radiant heat up to 900° C (1650° F); contact heat up to 200° C (390° F)
  • Optional coating: PTFE inside and/or outside
  • Thicknesses: 0.45mm or 1.0 mm

  • Kevlar fabric with aluminum coating on one side
  • Temperature range:  radiant heat up to 900° C (1650° F); contact heat up to 200° C (390° F)

Fiberglass:

  • Excellent material for ozone, weather, oil, grease, solvents and temperature resistance
  • Green color, uncoated fiberglass
  • Temperature range: radiant heat up to 700° C (1290° F); contact heat up to 800° C (1470° F)
  • Optional coating: PTFE inside and/or outside
  • Thickness: 1.0 mm
